Specialized Medical Services, Inc. (SMS) is a leading provider of quality oxygen products and consulting services to the long-term care industry.  We are dedicated to improving the lives of patients and improving the financial and clinical results of health care organizations.  Due to growth, we have an immediate opening for a full-time Intake Coordinator to join our team. This position is located in New Berlin near Cleveland and Calhoun.

This position will be responsible for for the intake and data entry of information relating to Managed Care and hospice organizations.  Responsibilities include intake from managed care organizations including determination of correct product and payer source, coordination of equipment/supply delivery, confirming accuracy of customer orders, following up with customers and or referral sources regarding satisfaction, handling questions or problems that arise with supplies and/or equipment, assisting with questions regarding billing as needed, following up on capped rental options as needed, entering medical records information, accurate data entry into computerized system in a timely manner as needed, assisting with processing billing for durable medical equipment, oxygen and supplies for hospice and managed care organizations as needed, and other duties as assigned.

Successful candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent plus at least one year of intake experience in the medical field.  Experience with Medicare DME billing or private pay collections considered in lieu of intake experience.  Customer interaction/customer service experience required. Experience in dealing with hospices a plus. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office required along with strong data entry skills. Excellent organizational, analytical, communication and customer service skills required.  Ability to take initiative and problem solve required.  Excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills required.  Knowledge of prior authorization process preferred.  Must be able to work during monthly billing period.
